Breeding ProgramExceptional Miniature Donkeys |
| Preserving the integrity of the Miniature Donkey is the top priority of our breeding program. Over the past twenty years we have selected top quality jennets and have bred them to outstanding jacks. Our goal is to produce compact, well-balanced examples of the classic Mediterranean Miniature Donkey. Jane
Savage is a founding member of the National
Miniature Donkey Association and served on the Breed
Standard Committee which developed the NMDA official breed standard. are

Burgundy Black Jack
DOB: September 10th, 2007 Birth Height: 21 ¼" Height on 7/02/10: 30 ½" Sire: Sunset Acres Speedway Racer, 32" Very Dark Brown w/NLP Our new herd sire, Badlands Marauder, is a combination of the best qualities of all my favorite jacks in one perfect package. He is stocky, compact, and black with a great pedigree. In addition, he is as sweet as they come. He will be an ideal out cross for my Beamer daughters which I just love. As chance would have it Marauder happens to be the name of a B-26 WWII Bomber plane. It looks like he was meant to be a herd sire here at Flight of Fancy. A huge thank you to my dear friend, Dayle Haworth, for selling him to me in a weak moment! |

31½"
Light Red Jack We
are pleased to have Winston as a herd sire. This exceptional 31½" light red
jack is drafty and correct with a sweet personality. Winston is the product of My World
Farm's intensive sorrel breeding program. He has both Buster and Red Baron in his pedigree.
He has produced sorrel, black,
masked spot, grey and brown for us! He has also produced frosted white with pink undertones.
Winston stamps his foals with his exceptional chest, round rear and heavy bone. Congratulations to Dr. Gerald & Judy Schrater Schrater's G Bar J Hutchinson, Kansas |

31"
Black Jack w/Star DOB: January 10th, 2006 Sire:
Circle C Main Event, 32½" Black After
traveling the country looking at many fine jacks, we decided "Beamer" was what we were looking
for. This beautiful black jack with a big white star has style and presence! We are excited
to add him to our breeding program. We have retained so many of Beamer's daughters for our breeding program that it was time to change jacks for another bloodline. Beamer was promised back to his breeders at Itsy Bitsy Burro Company, Jerry & Tonnie Willrich in La Grange, Texas. |

32½"
Very Dark Brown Jennet Cloud
9 was special when she hit the ground, dark, small and stocky. She has
not disappointed us as she has developed into a lovely jennet. Cloud 9
is bred to Front and Center for an April 13th, 2010 foal. |

Black Jennet w/Cross & Small Star Beauty's
name fits her well. She is an exceptional small black jenny with
a lovely head. Beauty has produced three black and correct foals,
the most recent is Mystic,
who will be retained for our breeding program. (It should be noted that Beauty is very
pregnant in the photos above!) |

Immature
Dark Brown-Roan & White Spotted Jennet I
was so pleased to purchase this beautiful spot jenny from Joe & Dayle
at Half Ass Acres in Tennessee. Ch Ching is stunning and so colorful with
white hairs throughout her dark spots. She looks like she may continue
to darken to black as her dam did. She is a full sister to Ponderosa's
herdsire, HHAA
Mojave, who appeared on the
cover of The Asset magazine. I just love both her dam and sire so she has
great genetics as well as the color. Ch Ching has been bred to Badlands for an August 2011 foal. |

Immature
Very Dark Brown Jennet We
were so glad to have a healthy beautiful foal since she took some time to come into the
world. The vet assisted in this birth and after a few good tugs she arrived as feisty as
could be. Mystic is a very similar color to her dam. She is a real stocky girl at 30 pounds
at birth. We have been looking for a nice dark jenny and we sure found her right here. We
plan to add her to our breeding program when she matures. |

Black Jennet
w/Small Star & Blue/Gray Eyes Yes, Raven is an aircraft, but it also means glossy black hair and this girl sure has that.
She is as black as coal with no cross.
Rave also has a small star and beautiful head like her sire, Front
and Center. I couldn't have asked for a nicer foal. Beamer has done a super job to produce
two such stunning girls for us. |
![]() ![]() Kiowa's Blue Gray Eye! |
Red/Brown Jennet w/Blue/Gray Eyes! This
was Dory's first foal but, we weren't expecting her until August. It
was a real shock when Terry saw Dory walking in the pasture with the
foal half presented. We quickly got her back to the foaling stall.
She had no intention of lying down so we gently assisted with the birth
while she was standing thus the name Kiowa's Standing Ovation. (Kiowa
is a name of an Army helicopter to fit the plane theme) Luckily Dory,
after a little confusion, decided motherhood wasn't that bad. Kiowa
was alert and energetic from the moment she stood and knew right where
to get her milk. |

Black & White Spotted Jennet w/Blue/Gray Eyes We
were surprised this spot jenny has so much white on her. Another beautiful
blue eyed jenny (like Raven, Liberty, and Kiwi... all Beamer foals)
with nice dark eyeliner. Her spot pattern is really interesting with
very dark coloring on her ears, eye rings, along her back and part
of her tail. We couldn't have had a better foal for the last one of
the year. Of course, we think she is cute as can be, as well as straight
and wide. Front and Center continues to do a great job! |
